Grant Writing Workshop conducted in NIH Islamabad, 3 Jan 2018

A Grant Writing Workshop was conducted by Pakistan Biological Safety Association (PBSA) in National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad on January 3 2018. Dr. Aamer opened the workshop and provided a background about grant writing. He emphasized that writing a grant is an art, and these workshops will lead to the process through which grant writing can be better understood, as well as learnt about.

Shehroze Ameen provided an overview about literature search; Safia Nisar gave a lecture about grant components, and what are their functions in the context of the grant proposal. She also highlighted the difference between those applying for grants, and those giving the grants (i.e. grant request vs. grant making); Dr. Mashaal Chaudhri gave a lecture on evaluation and evaluation frameworks.

Participants appreciated the efforts of PBSA, and hoped to implement these lessons learnt into their future endeavors with grants.
