Capacity Building of Medical Lab Professionals on Biosafety and Biosecurity

On May 14, 2024, a one-day hands-on workshop titled “Capacity Building of Medical Lab Professionals on Biosafety and Biosecurity” was successfully organized by the Pakistan Biological Safety Association (PBSA), Superior University, Lahore, and Medical Lab Technologists Association of Pakistan (MLTAP).

This workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of medical lab professionals in biosafety and biosecurity practices. The distinguished speakers and trainers included Mr. Muhammad Ali Malik, President of MLTAP and Chapter Head of PBSA Punjab, Mr. Raza Mohy Uddin, Co-chapter Head of PBSA Punjab and Provincial President of MLTAP Punjab, and Ms. Zoya Rani, Master Trainer at PBSA and Head of the Quality Department.

Through the shared expertise of facilitators, participants engaged in hands-on activities, emphasizing practical implementation in medical and allied health sciences. Dr. Tasra Bibi, the focal person, expressed appreciation for the enlightening sessions on biosafety and biosecurity.

The event garnered large attendance from faculty members and students of various healthcare-related fields. Prof. Dr. Nadeem Babur, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, acknowledged and awarded appreciation shields to the esteemed guest speakers, recognizing their valuable contributions.
