Pakistan Biological Safety association (PBSA) actively participated in Career Fair 2017 organized at Hamdard University Karachi, November 24,25 -2017. Under the instruction of PBSA president Dr. Aamer Ikram, the PBSA Member and IFBA Certified Biorisk Management Professional Dr. Saeed Khan lead his team at the PBSA booth. The Vice Chancellor Hamdard University and the chief guest visited the PBSA booth along with large number of students, researcher and healthcare professionals. Where Dr Saeed and his team briefed them about the PBSA and its role in the field of Biosafety and Biosecurity training. All the visitors appreciated the efforts of PBSA and showed keen interest in the activities and trainings.   All the team members at the booth engaged the students and faculty members, visiting the PBSA booth and provided them the details about PBSA and encouraged them to become members and participate in the training programs under the guidance of international experts, to improve their skills and boost their career.

Being elected as the President of Pakistan Biological Safety Association (PBSA) is a true honour for me. I believe that promoting awareness, knowledge and understanding of biosafety at the regional and national level is responsibility of each member and trainer of the PBSA. This organization is commended in many of the national and international forums for its preventive training for Risk Assessment and management, that was much needed at the time of COVID-19 outbreak. Additionally, it has promoted strong collaborations and affiliations with various Biosafety developmental programs that align with international standards to acknowledge and recognize biosafety as a separate scientific discipline within Pakistan. I strongly agree that “no one is safe until everyone is safe”, and would like to work with the PBSA team to implement this approach as far and wide as possible.
