Punjab Train the Trainer Workshop August 22-24 2022 at Islamia University Bahawalpur
The Pakistan Biological Safety Association (PBSA), Islamabad organized a 3 day Training of Trainer Workshop (TOT)- Biological Risk Mitigation program on August 22-24, 2022 at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur .
During the workshop, Participants were trained on the beaking method of removing contaminated gloves, donning and doffing of PPE including Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs), Tyvek suit, booties and gloves, the class II biosafety cabinet, responding to gross contamination, working in a biosafety cabinet, responding to spills outside the Biosafety cabinet, proper glove removal verification, understanding and working with different personalities, responding to an unconscious person, responding to needle stick injuries, and observational examination.
The workshop was appreciated by participants. They gave positive evaluations of the event and commented that they will integrate lessons learnt from the workshop in their institutes. Some of the participants from Rahim Yar Khan said they will request their department heads to integrate a biosafety course and make it mandatory for all students before entering the lab as a result of the workshop.
